Tenure-Track Position in Exercise Science and Fitness at Pepperdine University

Pepperdine University’s Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, located in Malibu, California, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as an Assistant Professor of Sports Medicine beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in kinesiology or a related field by July 2018. Candidates with post-doctoral research experience are strongly preferred.

Successful candidates will actively contribute to a rigorous curriculum in the exercise sciences. Candidates must have demonstrated ability for teaching undergraduate coursework in two or more of the following areas: human anatomy, health fitness, neuromuscular adaptations to exercise, and research methods. Candidates are expected to establish a research program that involves undergraduate students. Current research interests in the department include vascular physiology, exercise and women’s health, cognitive function and aging, and neural biology and exercise performance. Well-equipped biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor behavior laboratories are available for teaching and research. Scholarly collaboration among sports medicine faculty as well as with faculty from other disciplines (e.g., biology, physics, computer science) is encouraged and supported.
